User Code of Conduct

Well done for taking the first step towards making yourself the best you can be, and getting the answers that you need! 🙂

By booking a session on Mentor247.co, and in addition to our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, you hereby agree to this User Code of Conduct.

  1. Trust and Confidentiality. All our mentors are obligated to maintain the content of the sessions, and your identity, completely confidential. A mentor that fails to do so (hasn’t happened yet) is immediately banned from our platform.

  2. Openness & Sharing your needs. The mentors are not here to judge or criticize you. They are here to support you. The more you share, and the more honest you are, the better they will be able to help. Also, although some of our mentors are psychics, most of them won’t be able to guess what you want if you don’t tell them, so we recommend that you share what’s on your mind, and what you need help with. They’ll do the rest.

  3. Multitasking. We’re all busy, so we all like to multitask. But if you want to make the most out of your session, we advise that you put everything aside, close all other screens, and focus only on the session.

  4. Punctuality. Be fashionably on time, not fashionably late. Your mentors are expected to do the same, and often have another session immediately after yours.

  5. Appropriate behavior and camera. Although we don’t expect you to become the queen of England, we do expect you to speak and act respectfully and politely at all times. This includes having your camera on during sessions – unless you and the mentor have agreed to have a voice session only. Having your camera on improves the interaction with your mentor and allows the mentor to see how you respond to them (which improves the success of the session).

  6. Your virtual background. Mentoring is a journey, but if your video-chat background features exotic beaches and palm trees, then it may cause your mentor to dream of vacations instead of focusing on the session. Try to keep your background clean from distractions.

  7. Appropriate surroundings. We’re all busy, so there’s nothing more efficient than having a mentoring session while driving. But that will also probably lead to a less meaningful session. It is best to be in a quiet place, with no distractions (including your phone). Trust us: the more you focus on your session, the better the experience will be.

  8. Internet Connection & technical requirements: There’s nothing like a good disappearing trick, but perhaps less so when it’s during a mentoring session. Please make sure that you have a good internet connection (it’s best to be connected by physical cable, not Wi-Fi or hotspot), a working microphone, camera and speakers.

  9. Expectations. Patience is bitter, but its fruits are sweet. Mentoring is a process that takes time, but in the end the results are worth it. For some challenges, one session may be enough, for others, more are needed (with 5 or 6 being the golden number). Be open to various options and align your expectations with your mentor during the first session.
Pro tip: write down your challenges or questions before the session. These might change during the session, but at least you’ll have a general direction.

  10. Be Open minded. Our mentors are here for you, so when they suggest something new remember that their new idea is like a pair of new shoes – try them on before you judge the fit. Take a few steps with them and then decide.

We hope that you enjoy your sessions. We’re here for anything that you might need!
